On 1 January 2007 the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) appointed the Financial Ombudsman Service under an agency agreement to administer and monitor compliance with the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice.
All NIBA members are automatically bound by the provisions of the Code. Non-NIBA members can also adopt the Code.
To subscribe to the Code, please:
Your application will be forwarded to NIBA. Your application will be published in NIBA's Gazette for scrutiny by members and circulated to its divisional committee. NIBA may request further information before referring the application to its Board for approval.
For further information about the application process, please contact us.
Subscription to the new Code is not compulsory for Financial Ombudsman Service membership. The Financial Ombudsman Service supports Code compliance as an effective tool in the self-regulation of insurance brokers which assists in creating increased consumer confidence in the insurance broking industry.
