Apply for membership

Please read this page before you proceed to the application form

 

 

How much will it cost?

A membership application fee of $220 AUD (including GST) applies and is payable by credit card (see right). Additional fees are charged including a base levy for all members plus a user charge and case fees for disputes handled by the Financial Ombudsman Service in accordance with our Terms of Reference.

After your membership application is accepted, you will be invoiced for the base levy (for the period up to 30 June 2010). Further details about the base levy, user charge and case fees will be sent to you upon acceptance of your membership application. If you want further clarification about fees prior to making your application, please contact our membership team 1300 56 55 62 or email us membership@fos.org.au.

 

Are you an authorised credit representative?

If you are an authorised credit representative, do not complete the online membership application form. Instead, please contact our membership team for an abbreviated application form. An application fee of $55 (inc GST) applies which will also cover your membership until 30 June 2011.

 

Membership application checklist

As you complete the application form you will be asked to provide a range of contact details for a number of different roles. You will not be able to complete the application until you nominate contacts for these roles listed below. Hover your cursor over any contact type to see a definition. In some instances, the same person may undertake some or all of the contact roles listed.

  • Managing Director/CEO/Company Secretary
  • IDR Registration Contact
  • EDR Manager Contact
  • Public Display Contact
  • Systemic Issue Contact
  • Dispute Contact(s)
  • Finance Contact – Levy Funding
  • Finance Contact – Disputes

In addition you will be asked for the following details:

  • Organisational details
  • General description of your business (you will be asked to select from a predefined list)
  • Membership of industry associations
  • Confirmation that you are authorised to make the application
  • Confirmation that you agree to abide by the Financial Ombudsman Service Terms of Reference

 

Proceed to online membership application form

ABN or ACN

Your business name must match your ABN or ACN.

 

Credit cards

Please have a valid credit card to hand. We accept Visa and Mastercard.

 

Security

Credit card payments are passed through Payway's secure server using 128-bit SSL encryption, the industry standard, approximated to take at least one trillion years to break. For any questions regarding security, please email accounts@fos.org.au.

 

GST invoice

After submitting your online membership application, you will get a payment confirmation. This is your tax invoice for GST purposes. Please save and/or print this page for your records. You will receive a separate confirmation via email but this will not include a tax invoice.

 

Refund policy

Application fees are non-refundable.
