The Financial Ombudsman Service began operating on 1 July 2008 under the guidance of a transitional Board, comprising the above directors from the Boards of the previous schemes.
The remit of this Board was to oversee the first year of operations of the Financial Ombudsman Service and then elect a new board for the future.
