We organise or attend hundreds of events every year. Over the next few months we will be in Sydney and Melbourne running various sessions for our members, and providing webinars for our ILIS and Banking & Finance members.

General Insurance Open Forums – Melbourne & Sydney

We host a series of open forums every year that bring together people involved in the general insurance industry to discuss FOS Determinations and share insights. The forums are always well-attended, and members enjoy the opportunity to submit topics and individual FOS Determinations for discussion. They also enjoy the opportunity to ask questions of the FOS Panel on the day.

Investments, Life Insurance & Superannuation (ILIS) Forum – Melbourne & Sydney

FOS will host its first forum for our ILIS members in Melbourne and then in Sydney the following month. The forum will focus on current and emerging issues for us, our members and the industry.

Banking & Finance Forum – Sydney

After the success of the inaugural Banking & Finance Forum in Melbourne late last year, we will be in Sydney in April to discuss the emerging issues and current concerns for us, the industry and our members.

FOS Webinar Series

FOS has created a series of webinars that, among other things, communicate the way we approach some common issues and dispute types that we see at FOS.

The introduction of regular webinars will help us to share our experience and knowledge and reach people who cannot readily make it in person to FOS events.


Webinar: Loss calculation in financial advice  

This webinar will discuss FOS's approach to loss calculation in financial advice.

We will also discuss the common issues we see coming through disputes involving financial planning, stockbroking, managed investments, securities and derivatives.

This webinar will discuss FOS’s approach to maladministration disputes.
